LIGHTLY ACTIVE
Involves a job requiring more activity, or having a sedentary job but including moderate activities like walking, cycling, gardening, light exercise classes, hiking, etc.
ACTIVE
Involves engaging in activities such as extended periods of walking or manual labor, brisk walking with a load, and tasks like operating heavy tools, farming, or construction work. Can involve a more sedentary occupation with heavy weight training, and regular walking, cycling, swimming, etc.
MODERATELY ACTIVE
Involves strenuous work or leisure, such as strenuous swimming, dancing, athletics etc. for at a minimum of two hours daily, non-mechanized agricultural labor with heavy tools, and walking long distances over rugged terrains with loads. Can include Elite Athletes, professional dancers, Gymnasts, etc.
VIGOROUS
Elite athletes, dancers, gymnasts, etc. in the peak of their respective season with heavy training volumes, and increased recovery needs.
